Domaine Armand Rousseau - Chambertin Grand Cru - 2008

A still mildly toasty nose features remarkably dense yet elegant aromas of deeply pitched yet extremely cool and restrained red and blue fruit aromas that are nuanced by a broad range of earth, game and underbrush hints. There is an utterly beguiling purity to the relatively refined but muscular medium full-bodied plus flavors that are strikingly complex, vibrant and perfectly balanced before culminating in a gorgeously long finish where the supporting acidity is bright but not drying. This is still sufficiently firm to make clear that it's going to need extended patience though this should be no surprise in magnum format.
