2019 Avani "Amrit" Sauvignon Blanc

Avani is a Sanskrit word that means ‘the earth’ and is also a boutique winery that produces premium cool-climate wines on the Mornington Peninsula; wines of character which best express their site and growing season. Avani owner Shashi Singh and her husband Devendra have been involved in the hospitality industry (owning and operating restaurants) on the Mornington Peninsula for the last 30 years. It was during this time that Shashi’s interest in wine was first sparked and subsequently culminated with the purchase of an established vineyard in 1998. It's also worth noting that she spent several years at Bass Phillip winery where she learned a great deal about biodynamic farming along with her mentor Phillip Jones.  Why do we like it?
