The second release from 1999 plantings. 31% new oak. An every now and then Cabernet release, when the vintage suits. More dense, more powerful than the Yeringberg blend of the same year. Blackcurrant, blackberry, some toasty oak and tobacco, with firmness and chew to tannin and texture, less svelte and charming than the blend, more guttural and weighty, with brisk blackberry acidity and a long grainy finish.
