Telmo Rodriguez MR Moscatel grows on 9 hectares of vineyard between 350 and 1000 masl. Pure, ripe, rot free grapes are partially sundried before pressing. Fermentation and aging avoids oxidation to retain the bright aromas and crunchy acid. Pure, intense and long. Marmalade and blossoms with fresh honeycomb. The palate is full but silky with a dark stone minerality and refreshing acid at the finish. Super complex, great to drink now. Telmo Rodriguez MR Moscatel will pair with a variety of not too sweet desserts or a wide range of cheese.
Telmo has whatever the vinous equivalent of the Midas touch is. All of his projects, which encompass most of the quality wine growing regions in Spain, produce liquid gold. This Ribera project showcases the elegance and fragrance of the Tempranillo grape perfectly.
D.O Malaga
Featured on the central Southern Coast of Spain in the Andalucía region. There are five sub-regions of note that make the naturally sweet wines from Muscat of Alexandria grapes sun-dried on straw mats. Higher altitude growing means the grapes retain acid to balance the sugar and high tone Muscat aromatics. They are a style to themselves that must be tasted more than once.
Muscat Of Alexandra/Moscatel
The same variety that makes Moscato d'Asti, Muscat Beaumes de Venice and Australian Muscat. The naturally high sugar and acid in the grape made it a robust and therefore popular wine before sanitation was properly understood. The balance and highly aromatic nature of the grape makes it a beautiful variety for sweeter wines.
