Taittinger Brut Réserve

$103.00
What to expect - A symbol of festivity, a champagne for all occasions and celebrations - Unique for its crisp bouquet and balanced aromas - A great accompaniment to seafood and shellfish Such a high proportion of Chardonnay is seldom found in fine non-vintage champagne. This was a gold medal winner in the 2017 Champagne Masters and got 92/100 from Wine Spectator. Taittinger considers it an honour to produce a Brut champagne every year without exception. Taittinger Brut Réserve is unique for its crisp bouquet and balanced aromas. Its finesse, vigour and exuberance on the palate make it the perfect champagne for any occasion. The brilliant body is golden yellow in colour. The bubbles are fine, while the foam is discreet yet lingering. The nose, very open and expressive, delivers aromas of fruit and brioche. It also gives off the fragrance of peach, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia) and vanilla pod. The entry onto the palate is lively, fresh and in total harmony. This is a delicate wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey. About the House Champagne Taittinger is one of France's most celebrated champagne houses. As the epitome of French sophistication, style and grace, Champagne Taittinger celebrates the pleasures of life, believing that special moments are best enjoyed with fine champagne and great company. Revered by critics the world over and recognised as the champagne connoisseurs, Champagne Taittinger is renowned for creating wines of unmatched delicacy, elegance and finesse. Technical Details Taittinger Brut Réserve is a blend of around fifty different vineyards, consisting of Chardonnays (40%) and Pinots (60%) from various vintages matured to perfection. Brut Prestige is aged in the cellar for four years to reach perfect maturity and develop excellent aromatic potential. Food Suggestion Pairs well with seafood and shellfish. Reviews A blend led by long-ageing chardonnay, Taittinger's non-vintage spends a minimum of three years in its cellar prior to release. It retains accurate precision of citrus and stone fruits, with age contributing complex nuances of nutmeg and mixed spice. 93 Points Tyson Stelzer ….Lovely pale colour. Lightly fruity (peach/apple/citrus) with some floral overtones. A clean fresh smelling wine. On the palate again quite light and delicate with minerally citrus and apple flavours. Slight breadiness. Good fine bead and an attractive foaminess in the mouth with a little sweetness on the finish. Not especially complex but lovely elegant fizz and a good ‘standing up’ style. 92 Points Gary Walsh
