The Starward Whisky Gift Pack includes three 200ml bottles of premium Australian whisky. Each bottle showcases the unique and innovative approach to whisky making by Starward, a distillery known for its modern and bold expressions. Two-Fold This rather tasty entry level whisky is made using a blend of Starward's own new-make spirit and bulk ‘neutral grain spirit’ distilled in NSW. The blended spirit is then aged in 40-50 year old Australian casks originally used for Apera (Australian Sherry). The casks are re-coopered into smaller sizes and lightly toasted. Nova Nova (previously known as Wine Cask) demonstrates Starward's focus on making a whisky using what Australia already has to offer. The whisky ages in predominantly ex-South Australian Shiraz casks. These casks have the unusual treatment of a light steaming, rather than the usual charring, prior to filling. This serves to preserve as much of the existing wine influence on the oak staves as possible. Fortis As its name suggests, this is a strong whisky. At a higher 50% ABV, it's given the full ex-red wine cask treatment. All of the casks used hail from the Barossa Valley, with some of them charred prior to being deployed at Starward. Fortis is as much a celebration of Australian red wine as it is a bold whisky.
