At Prickly Moses we believe it takes good skills to make good beers, but we also think it takes something else. We call it Otway magic, but you might know her as Mother Nature.
Great beer comes from good water, and we source the best. Our brewing process begins in the Otways, where we use pure rainwater . We believe that leaving a sustainable, responsible footprint on our environment is as essential to what we do as providing you with beers that you can enjoy in any situation. We use solar electricity to supplement the use of grid electricity and we donate our spent grain to local farmers who use it as animal fodder. To that, we add high quality ingredients to create flavour profiles and aromas that invigorate the senses and leave your taste buds begging for more.
We produce gin onsite in our copper column still. Our gins are linked to the ships that sailed off this treacherous coast many years ago and serve as a strong reminder of Apollo Bay’s nautical history. Located in the old Post Office, built in 1970, we also house the anchor of the historic SS Casino who came to a fateful end off one of our local beaches.
