Produced from Rhonda Lowke’s vineyard in Ebenezer, farmed by the well-renowned Adrian Hoffmann. This is an early 1900s organic vineyard. The wine is naturally fermented and is 100% whole bunch. Samantha Chandra is the winemaker, working somewhat in cahoots with Callum Powell of Agricola fame. This is wonderful. It does sleek and supple, faintly succulent, textural, deep and brooding, herbal and blue-black fruited and delivers a symphony in terms of balance and interest. Black plum, black olive, Aussie bush notes, dusty, woody spices with dark chocolate, faint gingery spice, cinnamon, turned earth and allspice is going on. It slips over the palate beautifully, even and flowing, soft and yet with a gentle chew of tannin in tow, somewhat river stone-like and silty. Wonderful wine. All class. 94+ Points Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
