Seppelt Drumborg Pinot Meunier 2020

Seppelt has been at the forefront of Australian winemaking for over 160 years with achievements that include producing Australia's first sparkling wine and pioneering the iconic sparkling Shiraz. Seppelt planted its Drumborg Vineyard in southern Victoria in 1964 to grow premium quality, cool-climate fruit. It’s a vineyard that experiences challenging weather which keeps yields low and fruit concentration and natural acidity high. Pinot Meunier is a sparkling variety from the Champagne region of France, usually used for Sparkling wines. This variety does also make interesting and delicious dry table wines reminiscent of Pinot Noir, however it has a unique character and is amongst only a handful of wines made in this fashion in Australia. Make no mistake, this is a rare and highly sought after wine. We stress, LIMITED! Aromas The complex, perfumed nose shows aromas of sour cherry, sweet spices and cedar oak. Flavours and Palate Flavours of redcurrants, dark cherry and strawberry compote combined with fine, plush tannins and a hint of Indian spice result in a textural wine with length and elegance.
