Pooley Wines J.R.D. Syrah 2022

The Pooley JRD Syrah is a tribute to Pooley family history that spans three generations and is named after the second generation and current General Manager, John Roy Dennis Pooley. Fruit is sourced from a small block of the foundation Cooinda Vale vineyard and the cool, dry spring and humid summer condition resulted in low yields, producing a wine of considerable concentration and complexity of flavour. Vibrant red cherries and red currants provide the initial burst, with hints of violet flowers, white pepper, orange spice and a touch of mint providing a layered effect through the mid palate. A velvety texture and a fine tannin structure make for a beautifully balanced wine of elegance, poise and underlying strength.
