The Bowyer Ridge Vineyard was planted in 2003 at nearly 500m elevation just outside of Lobethal in Kenton Valley. This wine is sourced from two blocks with slightly different aspects, altitudes, and clones (Bernard 76 and 96). I’ve marked this wine as sealed with a DIAM but it’s actually sealed with a VINC cork. This wine is a wild ride. It’s flamboyant. It’s charged with honeysuckle and peach, brine and grapefruit, citrus and cedar, with a smoky, stoney character infiltrating the finish. It’s all still coming together but there’s a lot of fantastic flavour here. This is my first experience of this label and I want to know more; this wine really does announce Pare is a producer of note. 94 Points Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front
