Jean-Marc Roulot is one on the finest producer of white Burgundy there is. His wines are pretty hard to get and will find their way to the best restaurants in the country. But wine is not the only things he makes. Let us introduce you to one of our favorite lemon liqueur: Le Citron! Those wonderful liqueurs were started by his father, Guy Roulot, who produced an apricot liqueur for many years before his passing. When Jean-Marc discovered a few dusty bottles in the back of a cellar, he decided he will try to recreate his father's recipe and more. He now produces an apricot, framboise and poire liqueur as well as the latest of them: Le Citron. We quickly adopted it as one of our favorite due to purity and great freshness. The fruit are sourced from Sicily, called the Sicilian Petronio variety.
Why do we like it?
This lemons are prepared in two different ways, one part goes through distillation and the other part is made through infusion. At 35% abv, it's the perfect balance between the bitterness and intensity of those incredible lemons and the sweetness level of this liqueur. It's refreshing with lots of pure fresh lemon flavours and a touch of elderflower simply incredible,! The perfect afternoon sip or to finish with after a big dinner, we prefer it chilled but that's up to you!
