Max Ferd Richter Brauneberger-Juffer-Sonnenuhr Kabinett Riesling 2019 Balanced

$60.00
I will always say yes to a Max Ferd Richter wine. But in 2019, when Germany had a cracking vintage, the wines here are even better. Max Ferd Richter always means balanced wines with layers of flavour and this Brauneberger is a classic example. The nose of Max Ferd Richter is fresh, ripe, the orchard fruits hit first, with more exotic fruits underneath. Floral notes with stone and flint are buried deep under the initial fruit. In the mouth, you can get the citric acid tingle, the amazing balance of the fruit and structure. There is some phenolic grip in there too. Fleshy, jubey, mouth-filling, gorgeous. It is very easy to drink this Max Ferd Richter Brauneberger-Juffer-Sonnenuhr Kabinett Riesling 2019 right now. It'll evolve for over a decade if you're looking for a more savoury expression. Max Ferd Richter Brauneberger-Juffer-Sonnenuhr Kabinett Riesling 2019, and all wines are eligible for at least 5% off any six bottles. And 10% off any 12 bottles. Some wines will be at a more significant discount and not subject to further discounts. There are many producers who are more recognisable in the Mosel, but Dr Richter at the family Estate of Max Ferd Richter consistently makes some of the best and most balanced Rieslings from the region. This Estate has been in production since 1680. The current man at the helm, Dr Dirk Richter, crafts wines of purity, intensity and balance. Max Ferd Richter make seriously impressive wines for drinking and cellaring (and its name too!). Max Ferd Richter Brauneberger-Juffer-Sonnenuhr Kabinett Riesling 2019 Wine Review Jean Fisch and David Rayer Mosel Fine Wines “The 2019er Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit picked at 83° Oechsle, and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (45 g/l). It offers a superbly engaging nose made of pear, elderflower, cassis, vineyard peach, a touch of apricot blossom, and a hint of whipped cream. The wine is gorgeously playful on the palate, where creamy elements mingle with racy acidity. The wine leaves one with a nicely multi-layered feel in the mouthwatering finish. This is a beautiful Kabinett in the making.” Mosel The most notable of a star list of German Riesling producing regions. The steep, sun-drenched hills get the fruit ripe. At the same time, the cold climate allows for a long growing season. This maintains acidity and mature flavours. Sugar is purposely left in the wines the balance out the acid. The fruity Kabinett and late-picked Spatlese can finish dry and savoury. The sweeter Auslese, Beerenauslese and Trockenbeerenauslese are all exercises in intensity and complexity. Riesling Riesling is one of the world’s most noble varieties and known transmitters of terroir. Riesling is an important variety of quality wine production. Although only makes up approximately 4% of the planted area. Find wonderful Riesling in Germany, Austria, Alsace and Australia. They can be as dry as any wine you’ll taste or super sweet and luscious. See more about Riesling here. Kabinett This translates as gently sweet or fruity. These wines are generally low in alcohol with a power of acidity that is balanced by residual sugar. The best wines will seem almost dry and finish savoury and display a bouquet of beautiful ripe Riesling characters.    Germany When you think of the wines of Germany, most likely, you will think of the off-dry Rieslings of the Mosel. And with great reason too. They are delicious. But Germany has many regions and styles. Sure Riesling is the king of the quality wines. But the further south you go, the more you can find Spatburgunder. Or, as we know it, Pinot Noir. Carried there by the same monks who planted out Burgundy. The Pinot Noir in recent history has improved out of sight. Organic A system that at its core eliminates the use of artificial chemicals in grape growing and winemaking. Different agencies have different criteria for certification. In the EU, it is possible to still use small amounts of RoundUp and maintain organic certification. Sulphur Dioxide is available to use in the wine and vineyard. Wine Wine is the result you get from fermented grape juice. There is proof of wine production dating back 8000 years ago. Fashions, innovations and many other factors have influenced the way wine has evolved over the years. The wine grape is impressive. It contains everything you need to make grape wine except for the yeast, which lives on the outside of the skins. Human inputs can influence the final product, including the viticulture (growing) choices. And the winemaker can shape the wine to a point too. The best wines of the world often refer to terroir. Terroir is a French term that refers to all the climatic, geological and topographical influences on a specific piece of land. And it is true that neighbouring vineyards, grown identically, can taste noticeably different. White Wine It is interesting to know that you can make white wine from almost any grape. The colour comes from the skins, and if there is no contact, there is no colour. White wines tend to be delicate, perfumed, higher in acid and lower in alcohol. It seems for this and many other reasons, it is hard to make an incredibly impressive white wine. But those that have mastered the art are indeed some of the best winemakers in the world. It is a falsehood to think that white wine does not age as well as red wine. But it is correct that white wine, as a rule, doesn’t age for as long.
