Hughes & Hughes Dornfelder 2022

Dornfelder was created through a cross breeding project in Germany by the Weinsberg Institute in 1955, but it wasn't released for commercial production until 1979 when it was named after Immanuel Dornfeld, who was instrumental on forming the Weinberg Institute. Dornfelder is now established itself as the second most important red variety in Germany, behind Spaetburgunder (Pinot Noir) Winemaker Notes The most intense, deep colour you’ll find. Great aromatics of rich blackberries and anise with hints of pepper and spice notes. Dusty mouth-filling tannins, precise acidity. It's light on its feet for a big man.
