The first release in 2008 celebrated Henschke’s 140th anniversary. Today the latest iterations are a true expression of its site, some of the oldest Pinot Noir vines in the Adelaide Hills, and celebrates over 150 years of Henschke family winemaking. This sparkling is named as a tribute to adored matriarch Johanne Ida Selma, whose grandfather Nicolaus Stanitzki planted the first vines on the Hill of Grace Vineyard. Palate is dry, fresh and luscious. Some Berry smokiness coming through and silky soft texture via the lees. Some tannin showing itself and a juicy and clean acids on the palate with with forest berries and pastry. Elegant and powerful. Have with duck pancakes hoisin sauce.
