Medium ruby with purple hues. Deeply perfumed aromas of freshly cut red berries, with hints of rhubarb, cherry and liquorice, garrigue herbs, pinched lavender and more subtle notes of mace and white pepper. The palate is rich, spicy and focused, with vibrant raspberry and mulberry fruit, fresh pithy acidity and a long, elegant finish of fine, silky tannins.
94 Points - "It’s bold with fruit-filled flavour. It’s a blaze of glory, really. Redcurrant and violet, mint, fragrant herbs, some darker, plummier, almost blueberried aspects, a flash of black liquorice. The aromas swirl from the glass; the flavours sweep through the palate. Tip top. Lovely. Both layered and expressive. Good now. Will age." - Campbell Mattinson (The Wine Front)
94 Points - "Deepish red colour with a good tint of purple. The bouquet is raspberry, red cherry and sweetly ripe, quite floral and charming if straightforward and not really complex as yet. Alcohol contributes to a touch of hardness on the finish. It seems gutsier and less-fragrant than the 2017. It would reward some cellar time. (77% grenache, 19% mataro, 4% shiraz)."
