Tasted blind. Primary nose which is quite subdued. Spiced – clove, pepper – and powdery tannins that dominate the moderate fruit core. A quite light and refreshing style. Time is needed to tame it a little. 16/20 Points Alistair Cooper MW, Jancisrobinson.com Full robe; the bouquet shows oak-nutshells, roasting, a considered depth, hasn’t revealed its hand yet, broods in the glass. The palate presents rather a punchy attack, bustling red fruits, has drive and impulse in the late stages, a wildness that provides energy.
