Once again moderate wood is present on the cool if ripe and vaguely exotic aromas that feature notes of pear liqueur, green fruit, spice and seashore hints. There is almost painful intensity to the larger-scaled and overtly powerful flavors that terminate in a chalky, youthfully austere and compact finale that also flirts with rusticity. This is impressive and very much a classic Valmur. 91-94 Points, Sweet Spot Allen Meadows, Burghound
