The 2022 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru comes from a cru that represents 20% of the estate and raised for 10 months in stainless steel on the lees. There is fine precision on the nose, a hint of black pepper that complements the malic fruit, later, granitic scents develop. The palate has good weight on the entry, with nectarine and citrus peel, a little spicier than the preceding Vieilles Vignes [2022 Chablis 1er Cru 'Montmains' V.V] with ample length. Quite traditional in style, drink this over several years. 91 Points Neal Martin, vinous.com 15 months of elevage with vines in Lys, Sechets, Melinots and others – 6 parcels covering over 4 ha – nearly a quarter of the domaine. Back to a diam-style to this. Also a little herb complexity but with more finesse than the VV. Extra juicy, wide, great structure again with plenty of finishing bitters. Super energy and clarity of flavour. Wait again for 3 or 4 years. Bill Nanson, Burgundy Report
