The soils here contain greater proportions of pebbles (sassolino) and limestone than those found in Grumello. The result is a wonderfully perfumed and fine Nebbiolo from Valtellina. Wild notes of cherry, fresh strawberry, soft herbs and a marked minerality are supported by typically robust Nebbiolo acidity and tannins. Fantastic now but greater pleasure is no doubt in this wine's future after some time in the cellar. MW Wines
