The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Vieilles Vignes comes from two plots of 45 to 50-year-old vines, 10% whole bunches. It has a well-knit blackberry and bilberry-scented nose with hints of sea spray and Japanese nori. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, well-balanced with a touch of limestone on the entry. It is quite vertical in style with an understated almost Pommard-like finish.
