The 2018er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese GK was made from shrivelled rather than botrytized fruit, and was fermented down to noble-sweet levels of residual sugar. It offers a gorgeous nose made of lemongrass, grapefruit zest, honeyed fig, fine spices, and herbal elements. This wine is still completely sweet and dominated by candy floss on the palate, but already hints at greatness to come in the incredibly juicy and suave finish.
