First made in 1982. Flagship Wynns Cabernet Sauvignon. Elegant mid-weight wine with a wealth of commanding tannin. I am cabernet. Blackberry, blackcurrant, tobacco, earth, slippery oak. Toasty, dusty, clovey aftertaste. Dark fruited but not over-ripe. Oozes presence. Minor gum leaf notes. Black olives. John Riddoch really has got itself sorted out after the over-oaked, over-ripe wines of yore. This is what John Riddoch cabernet should be. It has an exceptionally long future ahead.
