“The 2022 Erdener Prälat Riesling Spätlese Alte Reben (Gold Capsule) comes from Hermann's upper parcel in this famous 1.49-hectare cru and 100+-year-old vines cultivated on gray-red slate. The wine opens with a clear, very fine yet intense and elegant nose with delicate flinty notes of weathered red slate. On the palate, this is a light, vibrantly fresh, delicate and elegant Prälat Spätlese with a spectacularly saline and grippy, very long and stimulating finish. It's still young and a bit tight but very promising. 7.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in May 2023.” 96+ Points Stephan Reinhardt, The Wine Advocate
