2019 Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhof Riesling Kabinett, Mosel

Now run by the 7th generation of the family, this estate has built a reputation for producing great sweet wines on the back of some outstanding vintages in the 1950's and 60's. It was officially founded as a monastery in 1335 and the Carthusian order cultivated the vineyards for over 400+ years before handing it over to the current family in charge. It is a truly historic property and is currently the eighth oldest wine-growing estate in the world.Why do we like it?
