2018 Domaine Génot-Boulanger, Volnay ‘Vieilles Vignes’, Burgundy

Burgundy has achieved what can only be described as insane prices in recent years and everyone wants a piece of it no matter the increase. At MS Wine Club, we are constantly on the lookout for the best that the region can offer. Having tasted them in London a few years ago, the wines of Domaine Génot-Boulanger just recently made it to Australia – which is excellent news for you!The Domaine is run by Guilllaume Lavollee and his wife Aude, who is the inheritor of an estate that was founded by her grandfather, Génot, and his Boulanger wife. Guillaume met Aude in 2006 and came to do the harvest the following year, only to find that the vineyard manager had quit the day before picking was due to start and that he would have to make the wine that year!
