2021 Suertes del Marques Trenzado, Tenerife

Suertes del Marques is a historic winery with a rich history rooted in the Canary Islands. Located in the rugged landscape of Tenerife, the winery has been producing exceptional wines for over a century. Today, it is recognized as one of the leading producers in the region, renowned for its unique expression of local grape varietals and the volcanic terroir. Suertes del Marques has captivated us since we tried the 2016 vintage. A true winemaking legacy and dedication to excellence! Why do we like it? Trenzado referes to the unique training system used for that wine, it is a trellis system unique to the Canary Islands. This type of trellising results in a plaited cordon with several of a single vine’s branches braided together, as you can see on the label. Th resulting wine has a touch of smoke combined with fresh lemon zest, toasted sunflower seeds and a burgundy barrel-like sensation with great tension and nerves.
