Place of Changing Winds is the vineyard project of Bibendum’s founder and owner Robert Walters. It is a single site in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria that Rob and his team began planting in 2012. After 5 years searching for the right vineyard. This area was called Warekilla by the original inhabitants, the Wurundjeri people. This means ‘Place of Changing Winds’, a characteristic of the site that still holds true today.
Why do we like it?
That was the story of the Place of Changing Winds in Macedon Ranges, but this particular wine comes from Heathcote, where these sites are managed organically and in detail. It is revealing a beautiful intensity, elevated tannins, and a high acidity too, which is giving this wine a beautiful age-worthiness. It was matured in neutral oak for 16 months before resting in steel tank for six months prior to bottling in late February 2023.
