2021 Louis Michel Chablis Grand Cru 'Grenouilles' 750ml

Domaine Louis Michel et Fils cultivates 21 hectares of vineyards, including Premier and Grand Cru plots. As with true Chablis, the wine is unoaked and fermented in stainless steel to preserve fresh fruit purity. It ages on lees in the tank for 12 months, developing complex bready notes and a rounded texture. The result is a vibrant, lemony wine with floral aromas, green apple, and zesty citrus. The Michel family, winemakers since the 19th century, excels in crafting Chablis from their prestigious vineyards. Why do we like it? The Grenouilles Grand Cru is a gentle slop with south west exposure, Kimmeridgian soil with deep brown clay and small pebbles. Good exposure and lot of sunshine. The wine is superb with satsuma and apricot fruit with subtle iodine notes, a chiselled texture and floral finish. This parcel high on the hill often sees a gentle breeze which helps to protect the vines from fungal disease.
