2020 Catalina Sounds, Pinot Noir, Marlborough

Catalina Sounds is nestled in the heart of the stunning Marlborough region of the South Island. Founded in 2005, Catalina Sounds takes its name from a nearby bay that once held flying boats that played a vital role across the South Pacific during World War II. It is intensely perfumed with red fruit aromas of ripe strawberries, also raspberries, with a touch of red roses and even some tertiary aromas developing, reflecting forest floor. The wine can be drunk now or in the next couple of years. No need for decanting but a nice large Pinot Noir glass is ideal.
