2018 Guilhem & J-L Hughes Goisot, Bourgogne Cotes d'Auxerre, 'Corps de Garde' Blanc

Allen Meadows (a famous American wine critic on Burgundy) has this to say about Domaine Goisot: "No one but no one delivers more quality for the price than Goisot. The quality is flat out amazing, particularly given the modest appellations with which he works". There is nothing to change about that statement; the wines coming from the Domaine are all stunning! Domaine Goisot is located in St-Bris Le Vineux, which is next to Chablis, and shares a similar terroir. The family Goisot has been making incredible wines for many years, they have been farming biodynamically for more than two decades and were under the radar for far too long! They work with such high standards in the vineyards that their wines, which are coming from a modest appellation, are able to reach such high quality. Why do we like it?  The Bourgogne Cotes d'Auxerre Corps de Garde is made from Chardonnay and comes from extremely rocky and rich soils in the same type of limestone found in Chablis. It's a magic wine made from contained, fine Burgundy winemaking. This fresh and pure 2018 vintage has great intensity and texture. Full of citrus notes and floral fragrance, it has a remarkable mineral expression and great depth.
