Amaro Camatti, a specialty originating from Genoa, was first created in 1923 by pharmacist Umberto Briganti and later named after his wife. Originally used for medicinal purposes, the bitters were produced by local pharmacists and prescribed for their healing properties. This unique and secret recipe is known for its distinct combination of quinine, gentian, menthol, and amaretto flavors. After a temporary absence from the market, Sangallo was granted the rights to continue producing this beloved Amaro Camatti, remaining true to the original recipe. On the nose, one may detect notes of dried fruit and eucalyptus, while the palate features a well-balanced blend of mint, cola, gentian, and angelica. Best served neat and cold from the fridge.
