2016 Schloss Gobelsburg 'Heilingenstein' Riesling, Kamptal

Since 1171, when the monks of Zwettl were granted the first vineyards to look after, to this days an incredibly fine wine. We are bringing you one of the oldest wineries in Austria, A fantastic Riesling from Schloss Gobelsburg, a very historical place with centuries under the belt.  At the estate organic farming dates back to the monks who until 1995 looked after the vineyards. From 1996 Michael & Eva Moosbrugger took over the management of the property together with Willi & Edwige Bründlmayer (heard of the Bründlmayer before?). Why do we like it? We love it because of the fresh zesty wines that these vineyards produce, the longevity is immense and that is because of the concentration of ripeness, elevated acidity, and the texture on the mouthfeel. This is a wine that you can enjoy today due to its delicate freshness, but it will evolve in the bottle amazingly.
