2020 Chateau Cauhape Jurancon Sec Geyser

Welcome to the southwest part of France, in one of my favourite parts of the region regarding wines, Jurancon! Located near the city of Pau, it is a special place for many reasons. It’s simply one of the most beautiful French vineyards, with steep slopes and scenic landscape, including the often snow covered Pyrenees in the background. Jurançon is a small-size appellation of about 1,000 hectares farmed by 100 producers. It is historically known for late-harvest sweet wines but produce some great whiet wines too and it is still very much under the radar of most. Henri Ramonteau established Domaine Cauhape in 1980 on his parent's farm, starting only with one hectare. Nowadays, the Domaine is one of the highlights of the region in both dry and sweet wines. Why do we like it?
