Shaw and Smith - Lenswood Vineyard Pinot Noir - 2016

I’m not known for my love of Pinot Noir, and especially those from the Adelaide Hills, but it’s a life full of surprises all right. Strawberry, cherries, vanilla cream, a pretty thing, but earthy/minerally stuff gives it bass notes to counter. Medium bodied, a river delta of beautiful fine-grained tannin, subtle earthiness and spice, that definite ‘mineral’ feel is there in the wine, alongside clean acidity and a satisfyingly long finish. Excellent expression. Took me by surprise. 95 Points Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
