2006 Wendouree Malbec 750ml

From 1898 plantings on the Central Vineyard. The best malbecs of Langhorne Creek are world class if vintage conditions are good, but Wendouree's Malbec stands alone. Its classic role of providing some mid-palate flesh in a Bordeaux blend is self-limiting. Here the wine has all the structure and texture one could wish for, and that elusive pillowy fruit flavour that wants to be described as confit or jammy before you recoil in horror at using such words for Wendouree.James Halliday Published 21 March 2022
