2018 Clarendon Hills Sandown Syrah 750ml

Originating from the esteemed Sandown property in Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, also home to the Sandown Cabernet Sauvignon, the Sandown Syrah is a recent addition to Clarendon Hills' lineup in 2022. Planted in the mid-1940s, this Syrah vineyard produces a limited 250-300 dozen annually. The west-facing site, rich in ironstone, imparts a distinctive incense-like spice to the fruit, offering a unique and exotic expression of Blewitt Springs Syrah. Notes of cola, sarsaparilla, incense, blackcurrant, blueberry, black olive, Italian leather, sandalwood, and roasted meat combine in this perfumed, multi-layered wine with a subtle yet powerful presence.
