Nanclares y Prieto - Rias Baixas 'Fogar do Castrino' Albarino - 2018

A new cuvee for Nanclares y Prieto - 'Fogar de Castriño' comes from two side-by-side plots of 85 and 100+ year old pergola trained Albarino vines in the village of Ribadumia, just inland from Cambados. They're planted on loose, decomposed granitic sand. Due to the extreme age of the vines and the poor nature of the soils the two vineyards combined produce just enough juice to fill a single 500L chestnut barrel where the wine rests for two years on fine lees, it's then bottled and aged for another two years before release.
