Wasenhaus - Spatburgunder 'Bellen' - 2022

The 2022 Spätburgunder Bellen is from a high-elevation plot in Kirchhofen on loam and loess soils. Fermented with about 50% whole clusters, this is a pure, refined and elegant, slightly toasty-flavored palate that reveals warm yet perfectly ripe fruit intermingled with fine but nervy limestone tannins and pure, refreshing salinity. This is pure and pithy, persistently saline and grippy Pinot with an intense and long finish and remarkably fine and refreshing tannins for old vines.
